PLEASE can someone explain why my statement shows, in green with a plus sign, a credit of an amount of money which has actually then been deducted from my running total and credited to my bank account? I've tried calling, I've tried WhatsApp and am now forced into having to deal with the matter this way which is most unsatisfactory.
All my credits and debits have an explanation so if this is not the case then we can only speculate. Customer Service are still snowed under after the changes on 1st October and it can take many days to get a response. Some have had luck by phoning at 9am prompt and hanging on until the call gets through to an advisor.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
If you can post a photo of your bill transactions then we may be able to help you, please make sure any personal information such as account number etc isn't showing. It'll be a lot quicker than trying to contact Customer Services.
Hi, sorry for delayed reply, I can't get an upload to work but on my bill there is as follows:
6th October, Gov Discount green credit +£66
17th Oct - no wording at all, green credit +£42.38
My account is in credit, on 6th October the £66 is clearly applied and added to the running total, on 17th albeit the £42.38 appears as a credit it is debited from the running balance and has been sent to my bank account.
I have never known a company more complicated and difficult to deal with than Eon.....
Ah. it seems the pic DID upload after all. Even this isn't easy!!!!!

Reason: pic did upload

Two things to comment upon. Clearly you are not out of pocket as your bank account has received funds matching the 17th Oct amount which unfortunately has a + sign on it (and no explanation).
Eon Next's accounting system (Kraken) is seemingly unable to make it clear to customers, such as yourself, what the rationale behind these refunds is. If you don't want this amount £42.38 back in your bank account, leaving you where you were after the 6th Oct EBSS payment, you can always inject a manual card payment to your account of £42.38
There have been a few reports of this happening from Eon Next and Sainsbury customers but no rationale has been given out from I can see.
