Correct. Each meter paired with the Comms Hub can be on either the same or different suppliers without issue. The Comms Hub always remains neutral and is managed by an independent party, which will be DCC from now on once all the S1 meters get migrated.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Ive been in touch with British Gas as Electric with them they are saying the same as Eon This is what British Gas say
It's right that the communications are predominately with the electric and you'll find your comms hub nearer to the electric meter too so yes it sounds right what they're saying. Didn't their update work?
As it's to all to do with signal it can even be the case that the info from a gas meter doesn't update when the electric does when both are with the same supplier to be honest ^Kirst
@phillip29
It will be one command to each meter separately. The meter(s) needs to get the command properly through the communications hub, update itself then make that information accessible to your in-home display, again via the communication hub. Commands from the supplier do not go directly to the in-home display.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I maintain my stance. There's a Gas Proxy in the Comms Hub for this exact reason. It maintains a copy of all data stored on the gas meter and can submit that on behalf of the gas meter whenever required. It also caches pending SMETS Commands and firmware updates for the gas meter to pick up during heartbeats.
I also maintain that both meters communicate with the Comms Hub independently of each other. The electric meter never does anything to the gas meter and has no involvement other than feeding power to the Comms Hub.
This is very interesting to read, if I am honest I have never even thought about IHD's and communication if you are registered with 2 different suppliers!

Hello finally had a chat with someone on WhatsApp. They sent the tariff update to my gas meter and IHD yesterday evening and it updated straight away, so my IHD is now showing correct tariff.
