If it has no existing gas supply you could go to a different supplier to fit the meter and open an account with them.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
@meldrewreborn unfortunately the gas supply is there and I can't transfer until eon put a meter in.. getting a reply from them is like getting blood out of a stone!
@Crumpet Anasa here 👋 I'm sorry to hear that you've not been able to get of anyone about this. As you'll need a new gas connection it's not as simple as sending an email for you to book a smart meter.
At the moment it can take up to 5 days or more for an email to be answered as we're very busy, you can give us a call on the phone there might be a bit of a wait but depending on what time you ring some people have got through within 5 mins others a bit longer.
Please be patient we're working as fast as we can to get to all of our customers queries as quickly as possible 😊

@Anasa_EONNext we don't necessarily need a smart meter, we just need an actual meter. The house has a connection for gas but where the meter should be there is just.. nothing ... Haha
I have called and was told it had to be done by email. I have been trying to get hold of someone since the 6th October and I've tried Facebook messenger, WhatsApp, email too. Literally no one is responding.
If you are getting gas at the oven, there has to be a meter somewhere. If it's a new build, have you contacted the developer to find out where it is? My parents moved into a new build a few months ago. The gas meter is co-located with their water meter under a manhole cover out in the street.
I'm assuming your plumber found a gas cut-off valve somewhere? The two are usually near each other, but not always the case.
So you could go to any supplier - you are not bound to E.On Next. I presume your oven is electric then -albeit fitted by a plumber. If the oven is gas, and its functioning, legally you are stealing gas (although that's a really big IF).
@Anasa_EONNext Hi Anasa, it's been 8 days since I messaged on Whatsapp and 10 since I emailed and still no reply. Do we just go straight to Ofgem with complaints as I don't imagine your complaints procedure is fit for purpose.
