Fair play. We still have regular meter visits round here as there are no (working) smart meters and a lot of the elderly population don't use t'interwebs to submit their own readings.
I mean come on, Abergeirw in Gwynedd didn't even get connected to the electricity grid until 2008, so it's all a bit of a mystery to a lot of the population, this electrickery malarkey!
I remember having a debate with someone about the lack of broadband in a particular area and I pointed out that many properties didn’t have mains gas supplies or sewage services, and which was more important?
We have no mains gas. We have no mains sewage services. We have no mobile network signal. We do, however, have 70 Meg fibre broadband.
In the time it takes me to nip down to the bottom of the garden for a quick go at the composting lavvy, the wife can download a whole hour-long episode of whatever rubbish she's currently watching. 😂
I know, I know. Still, before I moved here in December, all I had for three years was 7mb DSL that only worked if the wind was in the right direction. On the plus side, the house did have a flushing toilet. What you gain on the swings, you lose on the roundabouts...
