Looks to be a common ish issue but my smart meters (Smets2) are not sending any info back to EonNext
IHD is working fine. They were transmiting for several months after my switch from Eon (I didn't request the switch, they just did it), then stopped back in June
Speaking to CS I was told that DCC wasn't communicating (or something like that). Now I've been told it could be 3 years before reconnecting - that sounds ridiculous
Anyone else having a similar issue after being switched from EON?
Could you show me some photos of your meters and IHD please @2HatsDavis ? I'll see what I can do - and yes, I actually do make an effort at diagnosing things!
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

SMETS 1 meters are being transferred onto the DCC network from standalone supplier networks. When completed (end of 2022) they will in most respects have the same functionality as SMETS2. Many have already been migrated and functionality restored, but customers still waiting have no way of knowing when or even if their meter can be resurrected. Come the end of 2022 we will probably learn more.
But if your meters are SMETS 2 E.On Next should be capable of getting them to work properly. Try the Citizens Advice smart meter checker and report back. If E.On Next can't get them working they'll need to replace some or all of your kit. Give them a new call, tell them they have a couple of weeks to sort it out, then make a complaint if no fix is forthcoming.
Unfortunately, there are no financial drawbacks for suppliers in having customers with non-functioning smart meter systems - if there were they'd fix them quicker. There are of course financial incentives to install the things in the first place - but nothing to keep them working at all.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
You should see five green lights on the Comms Hub above the electric meter which are marked SW, WAN, MESH, HAN and GAS. Please can you tell me what they're all doing?
Diagnosis complete. You have a WAN Fault which may need an engineer visit. Please let customer services know and tell them I sent you - along with the details we've talked about in this thread. It will help to make their job easier!
SW: Comms Hub Software running normally - the Comms Hub is operational and self-diagnostics have detected no issues
MESH: Not Applicable - your Comms Hub does not feature MESH functionality anyway
HAN: Home Area Network running normally - the HAN is operational and one or more Devices are connected to it. This may indicate the presence of an ESME (Electric Smart Metering Equipment) Device, an IHD, a CAD (Consumer Access Device) or a PPMID (Prepayment Meter Interface Device) on the Network, or a combination of them
GAS: Gas Meter Detected and running normally - a GSME (Gas Smart Metering Equipment) has been detected as connected to the Network and is sending Heartbeats as per the schedule. It also reports that the Gas Proxy running inside the Comms Hub is operational and working as expected
