I was not having any problems with my DD until E.on changed the set up by crediting my E.on account with £66, and still taking the full scheduled DD. Next month my DD is set for £156. Will that be taken and another £66 put on my E.on account or will the DD be taken for £90 I.e. £156 ,less £66.?

This doesn't seem right at all @Johnh1995 you should have had some correspondence either email or letter telling you what your payments should be. If you haven't had anything through or there is an issue as I mentioned before I would suggest you get in contact with our energy specialists as they will be able to deal with account specific queries for you 😊

Debf, i appreciate your response, but trying to speak to E.on staff by telephone e mail or WhatsApp is far from easy as there are so many different versions on how the system works. I received a message on WhatsApp saying that there was no DD scheduled on my account when it had already been shown
I was not impressed with staff telling lies and making stories up.
October and November will be £66, then £67 for the remaining months. :)

There was a post yesterday from PeterT that suggests @Johnh1995's issue with the full initial DD being taken despite the Government credit being applied might be a common one, at least for people on variable DDs:
Is this correct? It seems strange that variable DDs can't / won't be adjusted to reflect the actual account balance. I've had DDs not reflect the paper bill before, generally because the bill is generated 2-3 weeks prior so can easily be out of date by the time the payment is taken.

My DD is due on 17th October but seemingly it is impossible for Eon Next to reduce my DD to £0 for my variable DD (account is currently in credit by £15.52) for this month even with 10 days to go. So long as things run smoothly next month I don't mind a DD being taken this month - so long as the account is credited meaning that I will be in credit by £66 if they do.

@PeterT_EONNext reply above mentions the Government credit hitting an account "in the next week"
Obviously there is a period sometime before the DD data set is assembled to send to BACS, when it would be too late to make adjustments. But today is the 7th, the collection date the 17th, that's 10 days (or 6 working days) before the payment is to be collected. Given the data set is submitted 2 working days before payment is collected, that still leaves 3/4 working days for the Debit amount to reflect the actual state of your account. You may yet end up with a zero DD this month. Fingers crossed.
