Many thanks. Without wanting to repost my post on the other Fixed Tariff thread HERE can someone on the Eon Next team confirm a few questions I posted over there recently?
Energy Price Guarantee: How this works and what this looks like

I'm really confused as we had been paying £297 per month on Nextflex tariff until October but since the discount scheme kicked in our direct debit has only reduced by £20 to £279. I also consistently have over £800 in credit on our account which seems to suggest our payments are being set in ordinarily high even under the current circumstances.

@cjcampbell
This may be due to the fact that the Next Flex tariff rates rose on 1st October necessitating a rise in your DD that has been partially negated by the EBSS payments and partially by your credit balance. So instead of a rise in your DD you actually got a reduction.Last edited by JoeSoap; 28-10-22 at 07:54. Reason: Added a bit
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit. -
Hi @cjcampbell
Total up your energy usage in kWh for gas and electricity from your bills over the last 12 months (if you're dual fuel), then for each multiply the kWh by your current rates and add the standing charge. You'll now have a good idea of your energy costs for 1 year based on the current rates. From the total deduct your credit balance then divide by 12 to give your estimated monthly cost.
How does this compare to what you're paying?
If it's significantly different then you now have the necessary evidence to request that your DD is updated.
When going this it's important to ignore the £66 Government assistance, that's a temporary bonus payment for 6 months and eon-next will deduct it from your DD payment if necessary. -
@PeterT_EONNext
I've read your update on Fixed Rate customers going to Next Flex, but the standing charge of Next Flex is still higher than what I agree to fix to under v19?! Can my unit rate be lowered as this is not what I signed up to? -
From EPG and Fixed Tariff thread
I've calculated that the 6 months difference for electricity only added up to £1.85
Also if you have been billed to a higher unit tariff than the EPG Next Flex rates you should expect this CSG to include this as well. (It did with my October bill) -
@PeterT_EONNext Hi Peter can you tell me what the current economy 7 unit prices are under the government energy cap scheme, my region is South East
