I'm thinking for definite that it must've been those things I did on the Sunday as I checked the meter reading this morning and it said 10410 on Sunday it was 10407.9, I've just been out and checked it again and it's saying 10410.5 and we've had showers Monday and today and used the normal TV amount computer charging phones etc so that usage looks about right to me and it going up from 10348 on the 2nd to 10407 on the 3rd has hot to ne the washing machine usage lawn mower etc
It does pay to keep a spreadsheet or something and read your meters regularly and record the usage. It's probably not everyone's idea of fun but at times like this it can be very useful because it's easy to look back over previous months, see trends etc.
If you have a functioning IHD, you can easily see the usage that you worked up on previous days plus you can see what you have used up so far on the 'day so far'. I seldom check the actual meter apart from the odd sanity check to ensure the IHD is sync'd to the meter. I also use the kWh amount rather than the £ and know the sort of numbers I should be getting depending on the time of year/weather/washing/tumble dryer/oven on etc etc. I put it in a central location not far from this PC so can instantly see it at a glance. Works for me but not for everyone.
My IHD is still showing the old rates too. The usage in £££s is the one that sticks out like a sore thumb for sure but also the usage in kWh is there to see. It should be somewhere on your IHD. You can then use your new rates to calculate your usage in £££s.
For ease, I calculated my new tariff rates against the old ones and worked out that if I multiply my combined gas and electric £££ that currently show by 0.75 I get a fair idea of what it’s costing. It’s by no means accurate but good enough until I can be bothered contacting CS to request an update.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@JoeSoap I contacted them this morning my ihd is now showing the proper pence per kwh for electricity but the gas isn't but like you say if you put it on the kwh you can work out how much its roughly costing with the new tariffs. They said that the energy usage section in the app might be showing the rates as if it was before the EPG

My limited experience of smart meters is that the gas updates a day or so later than electricity, so your's should have updated by the weekend @Deviljane666.
