Hello, after change meter for new one my bills growing up very fast and I don't know is the new meter works correct. Before change I pay about 2,5-3£ per day and now it's about 6-7£ per day. Even if I leave home when I go to work after 8 hours in my meter is 1,5£ less so there's something wrong. Is it possible that the new meter is broken? I don't know what happens. It's my first time with prepayment meter. Maybe you can tell me how much you pay for energy and what prices are normal. Thanks for help.
How long ago was the new meter fitted and did you notice this doubling in price immediately? I only ask as it’s highly likely your tariff charges have gone up in the last few days.
A usage of £1.50 in 8hrs when the property is vacant does sound a bit high but at 20p/hr it’s in line with what I see on my meter sometimes when I think I’m not really using anything.
Perhaps others here will have some ideas.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@Pazdzioch
So the meter was fitted on 28 September, is that correct? If so, you had two full days at your old tariff rates and now three days since the prices went up on Saturday. Can you access your account and check what your tariff rates are now compared to last week?
@JoeSoap Meter was fitted 22.08 and after this date the price started to go up to about 6-7£ per day. Old tariff was 27p now is 32p so this is not that big difference. I think there is problem with this new meter. I was making photo almost every day to have proff of this how was on old meter and how it's look right now. I see only one way out of this situation, call to eon to check this meter. Paying about 70£ per week for energy is a not funny joke.
32p is a bit lower than I expected but you know what your tariff rate is. Can you dig further to see what your consumption is in kWh and do some calculations to see if what you’re paying is correct? You would need to add the daily charge also.
I’m sorry I seem to be unable to help you further and you probably do need to speak to customer service. The more information you can gather before you do that, the better.
Don’t forget you will receive £66 or £67 per month assistance with your bills for the next six months.
