You'll get the discount regardless of what you set your DD payments to. Just don't set them too high as you'll end up having to pay the extra once the six months are up!

@theunknowntech Thank you for the reply. Am I right in saying then that eon will take £59 DD on the 3rd October then in November they will take a DD payment for £115 minus the Government help of £67, meaning a DD payment of £48?
Exactly, I’m furious, this should be a credit to my direct debit, not a reduction, having been freezing and frugal to build up credit, Eon have just reduced my direct debit, so I don’t cover the energy used and eat into my credit, this is utterly wrong and needs to be amended.
This is entirely UNHELPFUL how dare they?!
your DD is reduced but you energy account is credited with the full amount. If you want to pay even more into you account you can make one off payments to it. It’s unreasonable to expect suppliers to facilitate every alternative idea from customers.

This is how the Government have instructed that it's applied, it's not down to eon-next. Just to be clear, if for example you normally pay £100 per month, it will be reduced to £33 and the Government pays £67 to your eon-next account. So for 6 months your eon-next account still gets credited with £100 per month but you only pay £33.
Hi
I’m still utterly confused frustrated and frankly scared.
there has been no credit to my account, my DD has been reduced by £66, I should have gained credit regardless of the government ‘handout’ as I live way below my DD amount, intentionally, I am still in a negative position, this makes no sense whatsoever.
I have tried every avenue to speak to someone and nothing, absolutely nothing, I feel duped and cheated.
please if you haven’t lost “ the Will” could you try to explain to me again what I can expect here?…
many thanks
@emilyp
Firstly, has you DD been taken this month? If so, only the reduced amount will have been taken so your account won’t yet have reduced by as much as it would normally have.
The government top-up of £67 is not necessarily paid on the same day as your DD and will probably appear on your account in a few days.
Please try not to worry and be patient. This is new and confusing to us all but I’m confident all will be ok.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
