My account shows to deductions each month
-
Hi @vwlowen
It's likely to be the adjustment for the £400 Government grant (to be paid over 6 months at £67/66 per month). There's been a few posts like this, I'd suggest waiting and it should sort itself out. -
@Andy65 Thanks for the reply. I looked at my account earlier in the month and it showed my payment was increasing from £170 to £211. When I looked last week, the £67 adjustment had been applied and it showed my payment as £144 a month (£211 - £67). So, I'm not sure what this double payment is about. I'm a bit reluctant to wait and see in case they do actually take both and it might take months to sort!

Depending on what tariff you're on, prices for some are increasing from tomorrow so that could well be it.
Are you on the variable Next Flex @vwlowen? -
@JoeSoap Thanks for the reply. I'm not too sure it's before and after the £66 (£67) deduction is applied. See my reply to Andy65: Earlier in September, my new amount had been calculated as £211 (up from £170) but, later in the month, it had been adjusted to take account of the govt. subsidy to £144. So they seem to have already done it once.

@Andy65 Yes, I'm on Next Flex. It seemed to be sorted earlier in the month... first it showed my DD was increasing from £170 to £211. Next time I looked, they'd applied the £67 and it showed my new DD as £144. What's happed since to cause these two amounts, I've no idea!

@vwlowen
Thr lower figure has been calculated as your existing DD less the £67 whilst the higher figure is your DD after the price rise but still including your £67 assistance. As you pay your DD on the 15th of the month you will pay £144.61 in October and the same each month until March.
From April your DD will rise to £211.61 as the £67 help will have ended. As always, your DD will be adjusted if you use more or less energy than what has been estimated.
This is how I see it. We will find out for sure soon. -
The figure from 01/10/22 is your old/original £170.45 adjusted by the £67 reduction.
However, this then is superseded (from 06/10/22) by your new rate £211.61 adjusted by the £67 reduction.
Mine shows two figures too, but I'm not sure why the 06/10/22 date has crept in, as both the new rate and the rebate/reduction, I would have thought, both take effect 01/10/22
Edit: JoeSoap beat me to it, it appears 😆 -
@PaulR and @JoeSoap Thanks both :) Yeah, it's definitely confusing. The image below is a screen shot of my new DD as it first appeared early September. That seems to be where the 06/10/22 comes from. Later in September, the account just showed a single figure of £144.61 but I can't remember what the start date was stated as.
Like yourself, I can't see where the 06 date comes from. Unless it's to give people a few days leeway for meter readings ??
E-on Next do seem to have a knack of creating customer support work for themselves!
