@JoeSoap aha, brain light bulb moment. The £146.48 includes the government help of £67 a month, yes?
Correct! Don't look too closely in your account as there is too much confusion as to what is up-to-date information. Try to relax and let things unfold
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
@JoeSoap thanks so much, I now understand it and will just keep an eye out and make one off payments if I need to. Really appreciate your replies, thank you!
Your drop from £116 to £49 is because of the Government freebie that every household is getting. It totals £400 and will be paid monthly in lots of £67/66. Your direct debit will be £49 but your energy account will receive £116 (£49 + £67).
Worry not, your energy account will still receive £116 per month for the next 6 months so you don't need to do anything.
thanks for your reply. I actually think now that my payment will drop from £116 to £79, not £49. Think I’ve finally got my head round it. They have predicted my usage will be £146 with the latest price rise (tomorrow) so my 79 plus the government £67 brings it up to £146.

Reason: Typo
Just for information, it is possible to keep your current (until tomorrow) DD rate, I spoke to an Eon Next advisor on Twitter and they will keep your current rate if you want to.
