Moving house - issues with tariff and rates

    Hi, I've signed up to fix 12 month deal on March. In August I've moved houses and opted to transfer my new house to eon so this is continuation of my tariff from old property. All good, however I noticed that my tariff has renewal suffix in the name and the rate are slightly higher to the ones from march. Most importantly this tariff still ends in end of Feb 2023.

    So the issue here, If this is renewal and they have increased the rates then this should last 12 months from renewal date.

    If this is continuation of previous tariff then I think the rates should stay the same with deal ending end of Feb.

    This seems to be unfair to me of eon next should decide which direction they want to go with it. Has any come across this one ? Can anyone from eon next comment on this please ?

    It obvious to me that once I signed up to the deal in march you have already contractually reserved supplies for me.

    Regards

    If your rates are only slightly higher then this increase could be due to you moving to another supply area. Different areas have different rates for the same tariff.

    If you are still concerned then you may be better to contact customer service as there is very little input from Eon Next staff on this forum right now.
    I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.

    @JoeSoap - thanks for getting back to me. I'm pretty sure that I've moved within the same supply area. Therefore this can't be justified. I'm a bit annoyed as there is lack of transparency from eon. It's almost attempt to snick to add few pence extra so they are better off....

    I may give them a ring. I'm really a stupid man as I should go for octopus as they were already supplying my new property.

    @Grzegorz

    If you had moved to Octopus then you would certainly have ended up on the EPG tariff on 1st October. If your current tariff is under the EPG rates then you will be better off staying with Eon Next. If they are higher then you will move to the EPG in a few days anyway so the same as if you were with Octopus.

    You will have to speak to customer service to sort this out I think.

    @JoeSoap - I can only assume that my tariff if better to post September tariffs. It's impossible to get any tariffs info from eon site. Other day I want to compere what are the new variable tariffs post September but this apparently is not available on eon website.... Thanks for advising, will defo give them a call tomorrow.
