Excuse me being thick but how does the 66/month discount on direct debit actually help. If I am being charged the Same rates for energy but my d/d is reduced won't that just mean I will be more in debit to eon and then they'll just put it back up. Where do.you save the money if the charge's are the same. If it got paid direct to my bank account I could understand. Apologies in advance...

Your DD will be reduced by £66/67 per month for six months. The government will make up the shortfall so your account will be credited by the original value of your DD. All will be well.

That’s it. You don’t have to do anything except spend the extra money you will have in your bank for six months.
