I see they have managed to have some issues with my Next v16, which I believe was above the government rate. Yesterday elec was 42.621 p/kWh, 45.835 p/day. Gas 10.903 p/kWh and 25.923 p/day. Logged into the account to see this. Somethings not right - how has the standing charge gone up???
I might be wrong here as I don't follow the pricing of electricity much but I think they're allowed to increase the SC. My electricity SC has gone up by 1p and the gas by 1.2p. I'm on the variable but yours looks about right to me.
The EPG affects unit prices but not standing charges, which should be in line with those set by OFGEM in their 29th August announcement, and, yes, they were slightly up from April 2022.
But the OFGEM rates relate to variable tariffs, not fixed price tariffs, so it could be that those on fixed price tariffs could have standing charges above those of the price caps, but unit prices reduced to the EPG floor prices. And people don't think of this level detail that underpins all this pricing when they're moaning about how long this is taking. My gripe is that their communication has been abysmal, not that it's been taking time to resolve. At least I hope that's the case (have to go back and check now)!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I’m on a fairly recent fix (v17) and my unit rates dropped to around the EPG rates today.
My fix standing charges were lower than the current price cap/EPG charges and that is where they remained.
So, whereas I’m now on EPG unit rates, my daily standing charges are around 8p lower for electric and 1p lower for gas than the EPG standing charges.
I can only assume that those that fixed on higher standing charges than EPG are still paying those higher charges and it may be worth them changing to Next Flex.
I'm an Eon Next dual fuel customer with no particular expertise but have some time on my hands that I am using to try and help out a bit.
It can be quite time consuming trying to keep on top of all of this @JoeSoap, particularly when fixed tariffs are involved. That's the reason that I've kept away from it and the fact that eon-next emailed my EPG rates to me a week ago.

Where I’m completely different on my fixed. Unit rates down to EPG but standing charges up.
Now I’m confused again as I thought only the unit costs changed whilst the standing charges you fixed at remained the same. So, to me that would mean if, like me, your fix standing charges were lower than EPG you were on a winner and if your fix standing charges were higher than EPG you were now losing out.
Edit… I think it’s a regional thing where your new unit cost is a bit lower than the EPG guide whilst your SC is a bit higher. I suppose it all evens up in the end.
It’s confusing, I know that much.

Reason: Added last bit.
@James42
is yours a very recent fix? The EPG doesn’t reduce standing charges for any customers so they are either the level you fixed at or for those on variable tariffs the OFGEM price cap rates from their August price cap.
