I have old 2015 smets 1 metres installed. It no longer shows anything in the ihd and the wan light is flashing red and the han is flashing is the communication hub dead? I've attached a picture. Do these need replacing at all?
Hmm... Looks to me as if that Comms Hub might be dead. I can try to get @PeterT_EONNext to take a look but it'll likely end up having to be replaced.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

The meters you have are what we refer to as dormant SMETS1 meters. For your meters, we're awaiting the DCC to enrol them. The WAN light may be flashing red as the Smart Data Communications Company haven't yet enrolled your meters onto their network.
For the time being, we're unable to replace these meters unless given the go ahead, as we've been told to wait whilst the Smart DCC enrol all of these meters onto their network which means they will no longer be dormant and will start communicating again.
As this is something we can't control currently, we're unable to provide a time frame as to when this may be, but hopefully sooner rather than later.
Pete 😊

The SMETS1 meters were basically supplier specific, and now they are gradually being enrolled (transferred) to the DCC network which should allow them to be used with any supplier, and the programme of work doesn't involve a site visit. The actions are happening gradually and are due to be complete by end 2022. The problem is that the DCC who are doing the work will not communicate with customers at all. So by the end of 2022, if the programme has indeed completed, and your SMETS1 meters are still dumb, the presumption would be that will have to be replaced with SMETS2 meters. Don't hold your breath.
