Digital gas meter showing blank screen. Can't get through to eonnext on phone!!! Emails not getting anywhere yet (been trying all week). Anybody else had this problem with a meter???
The gas meters have a long life battery in them which allows the gas meter to work and send data to the communication hub attached to the electric meter for onward transmission.
The long life batteries have been known to fail. There could of course also be a failure within the circuit board in the meter. The likely solution is a meter exchange - so its onto customers services I'm afraid. Volunteers here can't help you.

Welcome to the community & thanks for taking the time to post. I know this may sound a little silly but have you tried to wake the meter up? Sometimes they can go into a standby/sleep mode. I would suggest pressing any of the buttons on the meter and holding for up to 30 seconds this should "wake up" the meter. If this doesn't work please let us know 😊

Modern gas meters I think rely upon the electronics working to register consumption. Older meters had sets of bellows within the casing that inflated in sequence tripping the consumption dials. The old meters would always work to record flows through them.
I don't think the new meters do that. So the longer the meter is out of action the longer will be the period of nil data - for you and the supplier. Its in everyone's best interest to get this fixed. Hopefully @theunknowntech will confirm.
SMETS2 Flonidan UniFlo Smart Gas Meters still rely on diaphragms to measure gas usage, but SMETS2 Flonidan SciFlo Smart Gas Meters use Ultrasonic measurements instead. Landis+Gyr however, only makes Ultrasonic gas meters.
It is true that the longer the existing meter is dead, the more likely it is for your account to get messed up. You will ideally want to arrange for replacement as soon as possible.
