Can’t have smart meter because there is no WAN
-
I’ve been told we can’t have a smart meter because there is no WAN in the area, I am less than 500m from the edge of Barnstaple. How do I find out when WAN will be available. I have asked for a smart meter and offered to send in meter readings as I do now but can’t have this either. Anyone know if there is any reason why a smart meter wouldn’t work within the home, even if it couldn’t send meter readings. we have good mobile signal and wifi?
thanks

@Slm1 If you have mobile signal, it must be something else that is stopping it.
Have you got a single rate or dual rate meter? -
We have a dual rate meter but are on a single rate tariff as a dual rate tariff would work out more expensive due to our use age pattern. I was told it would cost £137 to change it over.

@Slm1
if you meter is old it might need replacing for calibration reasons. Can you post a picture please?Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Recertification appears to be overdue for this meter based on a 10 year service life. In the event that this model has a 15 year service life however, it has about two and a half years left before recertification is due on it.

@Beki_EONNext a dual rate meter but single rate tariff, I was advised this was the best thing to do as it would cost £137 to have the meter changed
