It seems if you moan to the correct people at E-ON your able to do this.
New fixed tariff begins on October 1st for some.

Has anybody signed up to a fixed tariff and been able to defer the start date to October 1st ?

If you do it online I believe it starts straight away, if you call you can ask for it to start 1st October.

I think more info is needed on the circumstances where this deferral of the fixed tariff start date to 31 Oct has actually happened.
In a thread entitled 'Scam merchants' by @silverfox55 there are some posts from @Han_EONNext and within one it states, ''The only time we can delay a tariff start date, is if you are in the 45 day window and you have chosen what fix you want, and this new fix is due to start when the current fixed tariff ends.''
The fixed rate tariffs are getting dearer almost by the day so it would be unbelievably good news if we could sit on our current (comparatively cheap) tariff then choose the fix that's currently on offer but only switch to it on the day the price cap rises and when the new fixed rate tariffs would almost certainly be dearer.
I wonder if this is just hearsay or if anyone is going to confirm they've managed to bag this by moaning to the correct people. -
This is most likely someone going from fixed tariff to fixed tariff as you say @JoeSoap, I don't believe that someone has been able to defer the start date of a fixed tariff from the variable.

@Andy65
i was on variable and called to fix on the V19 tarrif. i asked for it to start 1st October and it wasn't a problem. -

Wowzer. I have to say well done to you for getting that deal. If I had tried to do that and failed, as at least one member on here has done, then I would be feeling pretty aggrieved.
It would be good if you popped back to this thread in October to let us know it all went through ok.
