Hello,
I just bought the property with prepaid electric and gas meter.
I have card for gas and key for electric meter with £0 credit on both.
Both meters show debt (previous owners).
I can send photos with meter readings by email if someone provides one.
what should I do now? I have workers coming over this Saturday to start some works and they need an electricity at least - I do not want to pay someone’s else’s debt.
I'm sorry to hear that there's debt on the meters from the previous occupier.
If you haven't done so already, you'll need to get in touch with customer services so that the debt can be removed so you're not paying anything owed by anyone else.
