My PV panels were fitted in 2011 and the FIT payments started in Jan 2011 and so are at a good rate.
My local authority, Wiltshire, inconjunction with 'Infinity Renewables' is offering a deal to add a battery to my system.
Will this affect the rate I am paid for generating electricity and the rate for exporting electricity?
Currently I get 50% of that generated as a deemed export.
What happens when I have a Smart Meter? I read that my export calculation will change to actual export reading.
So will I only get paid export for the actual electricity exported?
Obviously I will be exporting less with a battery than I am now without a battery because the surplus generated will be prioritised to charge the battery.
All answers welcome

@HowardC Anasa here 👋 Its great to have you here! 🤔 Good question! I'll see what I can find out! Have you checked out this thread Get FiT Savvy with Graeme? it might not have the answer you're looking for but there are some contact details on there for our FiT team-please keep us updated as I'm sure there are many others that would love to know the answer to this! 😊

Having a battery fitted won't affect your Generation & Export payments, we would require a battery schematic sent to us after install alongside a declaration being signed which my FiT team can get to you if you chose to have this done.
If you have a Smart Meter installed we would move you from Deemed Export to Metered Export, which means we'd pay you for what you actually export back to the grid. We would ask for a reading from the Generation meter on the day of Smart Install so we can do the correct split from Deemed to Metered.
@HowardC I spoke to the FIT/SEG team. They said that my current rate for my deemed export would remain the same after a battery had been added to my PV system. Thanks to all those who viewed my original posting.

I was wondering this also. Currently have a 4kw solar array from 2013 which is on a decent FIT rate. Good to know if I add a battery it won't affect the generation payments too much, aside from moving from deemed export (50%) to metered export IF a smart meter is installed with it.
