Do you think the Ivie Bud or Hildebrand meters would work in my situation?
To summarise:-
Comms hub rebooted 8th August to get gas to display on IHD. Gas proxy now functions and IHD has a split screen & placeholder for gas info.
No gas data - Awaiting data
Electricity connection now also drops intermittently (probably due to the IHD always refreshing for gas data) was rock solid before the comms hub reboot.
Gas data is at last going to the DCC as can be seen on the bright app
Current display is Geo Trio II - CS have tried to send updates to it but doesn't appear to work
Well, you could go for both if you really wanted to! But in this case, I think it's only fair that I give Hildebrand a chance so I'd recommend the Hildebrand Glow IHD this time. They don't shift anywhere near as many devices as Chameleon does, so it'd be nice to show them some love.
Oh, and I won't get commission out of it, so don't worry. :)
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Personally I think you deserve to earn some commission 😀👍
Haha, I wish I could! But unfortunately it would compromise my position and could be a conflict of interest (yeah, it's complicated!). I have to remain neutral in these things because if Geo, Chameleon or Hildebrand started paying me, not only would I have to disclose that every single post but it could also make people think that I'm just trying to earn extra cash. :(
Just an update should anyone else be in a similar situation.
Turns out the meters didn't need to be replaced; an engineer requested a comms hub reboot which fixed the gas proxy problem.
As soon as this was done the Bright app confirmed it was now commissioned and the gas data started flowing to the DCC.
My Trio Geo II IHD still wouldn't show the gas data. Purchased an Ivie Bud and all works as it should. No idea why the Geo didn't work.
These issues could have been resolved a long time ago. Luckily the 2nd engineer was more experienced and knew what to try first.
Took a while but we got there, eventually.
Yay! Just so you're aware, the gas meter will need some time to catch up on any firmware updates that got missed while it was offline. You don't need to do anything to have it catch up as the Gas Proxy will download the latest firmware automatically, verify it and then drip feed it over to the gas meter automatically during each heartbeat. Once the download is fully complete, the gas meter will install the new firmware and automatically reboot itself into the latest code.
As for everything else on your HAN? Well, the electric meter, Comms Hub and Gas Proxy are all capable of directly downloading their firmware directly via the WAN, so they'll probably have already installed it and rebooted by now. :)
Yeah I was told the gas meter is about 4 versions out of date.
The electricity meter firmware updated a while ago.
Hopefully I can leave everything now. Will be interesting to see if future tariff updates are done automatically and hopefully the auto reads will continue to send.
It should work. But I have... Ways... @PeterT_EONNext would you be cool with forcing a tariff sync against the entire Site and double check that it's all set up properly again? I have known a few cases where meters that went offline for an extended period have a habit of losing their settings...
With that said... Four versions out might take a while to catch up depending on how the updates get deployed. If they're cumulative with the latest version containing all changes from all previous versions, then it should just be a case of downloading the latest version and installing that one to catch up in a single step, possibly within a week or two. If they have to be installed consecutively however, it could take a few weeks and a lot of reboots which can put quite a lot more strain on the internal battery.
My smart money is on the first method for pretty obvious reasons!
