I am having a single (not 3 phase compatible) air source heat pump installed.
I have been notified by my electrician that our electric supply cable is frayed and that I also need a visit by Eon to check the Meter & Tails before UK Power Network will upgrade the fuse to 100 AMP.
I have spoken to a very helpful Eon agent. However, there is no option for him to just arrange a visit by an Eon team to check Meter & Tails re 100 AMPs.
Also, not sure who is responsible for fixing frayed supply cable.
The DNO (District Network Operator) is responsible for the mains cable and the cut out so you will need to get in touch with them to get those looked at.
However, we can definitely book you an appointment to have the meter and meter tails looked at. This is when the electric meter tails need extending, replacing or upgrading. Ideally we need to know the size the tails need changing to. (ie 25mm)
Frayed supply cables eh? You might need to talk to UKPN first as they probably own that element. Let me see if @Beki_EONNext can help with this as it might not be possible for you to make that request directly to UKPN.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Its the diameter of the tails I think that is needed - 25mm = 1 inch - which is one very thick cable.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Update, having now spoken to 5 different eon service people, all of whom appeared very helpful, I have gotten nowhere with my request for an engineer visit to validate meters and tails are OK for 100amp fuse upgrade - necessary before UK Power will visit.
They all promise to get back .. but never do. I have a very large home renovation project underway and this is going to cause me both time and money in delays.
Not sure whether switching supplier, e.g.Octpous, will be out of the frying pan and into the fire. Or even if they would be any better. I have been an eon customer for eons!
Eon do not have an option to simply request an engineer visit to validate. One eon operator suggested I request 3 phase upgrade in order to get a visit.
Possibly requesting a meter move, which I am more than happy to pay for, might work.
Any suggestions or perhaps a telephone number or email in order that I can escalate this issue???
