I've just noticed that the electricity smart meter readings that are sent/taken automatically and appear on my online account's meter readings history don't match what is being displayed on my actual smart meter.
For example, yesterday a smart meter read of 10138 was registered, but my meter's display and IHD both read 10411.
Looking back at past smart readings they all now look questionable.
I started looking into this because I've just received my latest bill, which covers the 1st April price cap change, and I wanted to check that EON have used the correct reading at this date. I noticed that the automatic smart meter reading for 1/4/22 is different to the manual reading I took, by roughly the same difference as yesterday's readings.... 270 kWh.
There's a slight lag on the readings sent to your account. It's taken at somewhere between midnight and 6am. If you're checking late in the day, that won't be reflected yet.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

The difference definitely isn't due to lag. As mentioned, the difference between the reading pulled from my smart meter and my meter's display is about 270 kWh - this is more than a month of consumption for me.
