Hi, Newbie here so apologies if posting in wrong section. I'm an Eon Next Customer on a E7 tariff (no gas where I live, only elec). A neighbour in the same block as told me her elec company have contacted her to say that the BBC is switching off the radio signal they transmit and which is used to change our current meters from peak to off peak & vice versa, as per the E7 tariff. I've done a google search and this appears to be the case, although struggling to find a date? Question is, does this mean my meter will also stop switching between peak / off peak and thus cause issues with heating of overnight water tank and storage heaters? If so, will a smart meter be the answer, but again a google search indicates they don't work with E7? Any help much appreciated - sorry for long post. Yours, a worried Eon Next Customer.
Hey there @CraigyT, This is not something that I have heard of but as research suggests, it is happening and that is the case. I've asked the Metering Team to see if there is a plan already happening that I don't know about or whether we are arranging a smart meter appointment for you to have a replacement ECO7 smart meter fitted for you. I'll pop back when I hear more. :)
@CraigyT dec 23 is the cut off. You supplier will be in contact to arrange an alternative arrangement Which is almost certain to be a smart meter capable of fully supporting economy 7.

Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
I think I'll need to get my friend Blastoise186 on the case as well. He's pretty good at researching and has a pretty decent network of his own that he can call on.
In the meantime, I'll ask @Beki_EONNext and @HannahD_EONNext to chat with internal teams to get a response from E.On Next.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Thanks all for your messages & info - has put my mind at ease a bit. I don't know if it's possible to do a reply to specific messages, however really appreciate your help and comments, thanks for taking the time to help. I will aim to post a pic of the meter - it's a tad old (just like me!)
