Received a message from Eon next today asking for my monthly metre reading,I went on my account and they have took money out of my account yesterday. This has happened before.I have put my readings in today so that means they will be charging me again.I am duel fuel and was in credit of ยฃ120but now ยฃ74 I think I am being overcharged as I only pay once a month. Why are they doing this?.People are paying enough I may be going to ofcom if not saughted
Hey @Waterlilly - how is this evening treatin' ya?
I am with you, I am sorry we didn't quite understand first time! But just adding onto what @meldrewreborn has commented on; you would've been billed to estimates unfortunately, but submitting a new actual read can redo this and bill you to your actual reads! I get that its very annoying that it bills you a few days before, I would recommend getting in touch with a member of our team on WhatsApp and they can sort out your billing and payment dates; this will ensure that we do not estimate any readings ๐
Take care,
Hannah ๐

Deb here welcome to the community ๐ What happens is that once you pop a meter reading into your account the usage is charged there & then so you will see the charge reflected in your account straight away. You will then see that charge on your statement when it's issued.
If you pop a message over to our energy specialists they will be able to go over your bills with you and check that everything in your account is correct ๐

@DebF_EONNextThank you for your message replied quickly, but as stated the money was taken the day before my reading was put in so how can they take money before hand.Thank you once again
I suspect that if your normal meter reading isn't available, they'll estimate your consumption and bill you on that. When proper readings are available they'll make a correction. I know it seems hard, but there isn't a huge army of people at Eon next devoting themselves to dealing with customers accounts. In reality it a small number of people and a huge computer doing things automatically according to how its programmed. So try not to take offence and feel slighted by the computer's actions - it really doesn't care and even if it did it can't make changes itself - thank goodness!
Try putting your readings in a few days earlier, it might fix things.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but Iโll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
