With the increases in energy prices we opted to have smart meters fitted so that we could keep a watch on what gas & electric we use.
These were fitted on the 14th April, however, the engineer could not get the IHD to work, & just before leaving said they would work on these "remotely" to get them working.
I have now discovered that only our electricity smart meter is sending readings, & I have been asked to send manual readings for gas.
We have someone coming to visit on the 17th to try & resolve IHD issue.
I have had so many issues with getting council to allow access to main fuses in conjunction with engineer visit at our flat, & I guess I will have to do all this again.
The engineer did say that she thinks it is the IHD not working, but could not rule out having everything replaced.
Sigh... It sounds to me @SheevaMTimbres that you have another dud SmartView 2 IHD. It's not worth trying to fix that e-waste of an IHD because you'll have a ton of problems with it down the road regardless. If you still fancy an IHD anyway, I've got a few options I can recommend for you in my guide at https://community.eonnext.com/thread...ve-IHD-options . If the IHD supplied by E.On Next failed to pair initially, there's no guarantee it will ever pair at all.
It is not worth having everything else replaced just because one component is acting up. Usually, you can just replace that component and leave the rest in place.
As for the gas meter? It takes up to six weeks before you'll start seeing any smart gas readings go in. Please keep an eye on things in the meantime!

Given the IHD is only 2 weeks old it should be replaced?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
We emailed E-on & explained the situation & the agent said the gas one is not sending, but I will see what they say on the 17th May, & let you know what they do, or suggest.
No worries. While you do qualify for a free replacement IHD if the one you were given is faulty, since it's less than 12 months old... You'll still end up with the same model as before, the IHDL SmartView 2. And those things are absolutely terrible...
When it comes to the gas meter though, @HannahD_EONNext has a few tricks in her toolbox that sometimes work. You OK if I ask her to give those a try?
