I am due to get some building work done that will require the relocation of my gas and electric meters. My query is whether I should look to get new smart meters installed before or after the relocation of the meters?
My initial inclination is to do so afterwards as I assume the relocation of older, traditional meters is a more straightforward affair, but wondered if anyone has done similar and recommends otherwise?
I hope you are having a good day! 🌞.
You are thinking correctly unfortunately and it would have to be two separate jobs 🤔. We would have to come out and move the OG meters to the place you want them, and then install smart meters for you to replace the meters.
Just keep in mind that moving the meters will be a charge of £157.86. And then once we have moved the meters we can book you in to get them changed to smart meters 😊.
Please get in touch with us via email, telephone or on WhatsApp to get this all booked in!
Have a lovely day,
Hannah

My inclination is the same as your. Just make sure that there is good access, and plenty of room for the change. also don't hide things away - the engineers need sight of cables and pipes.
