I suggest you manually read the meter and log the readings via your online account.
As I understand it the gas meter should communicate with the smart communications hub connected to the electricity meter.
There seems to be lots of these problems, and the failure of so many energy suppliers has caused the number of meters being switched between suppliers to add considerably to existing normal workload. It may take weeks to sort this out but your main concren is whether the meter is recording consumption properly - manual reading will hopefully put your mind at rest.
So long as your meter is recording consumption properly (its battery powered) you can log your readings and keep your account on track.
@theunknowntech is much more knowledgeable than me on the technical side and may be able to help you to get it working properly.

Thanks @meldrewreborn. Yes I will be taking manual readings and keeping records. The meter appears to be recording consumption correctly.
I have faith in e.on, I'm sure they will resolve any issues EDF had. EDF didn't even know what a Gas Proxy was. As far as I'm aware it won't be possible to take remote readings or see usage on the IHD until the gas proxy is commissioned.
E.on managed to get my electricity smart meter working which was installed when I was with Symbio. At least now both meters, comms hub and gas proxy are all in e.on's hands which will hopefully help.
To me, I'd say the comms hub is faulty and an engineer visit is probably required. However, it may be possible to do remote fixes yet. Let me ask @HannahD_EONNext to stop by. I'm afraid there's nothing I can do that would help to fix this problem, sorry.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Sorry for the delay! I've had a bit of an influx of notifications and trying to catch up.
I've had a look this morning and the good news is, I've managed to take a reading from the gas meter so it would appear we are connected 😁
I've also sent a message to your IHD which will hopefully give it a nudge tonight to start showing your usage.
Let me know if it doesn't and we can try a few other tricks our side. I'll also check back to make sure it's pulling the reads automatically when it should for your bills.
Hi @HannahD_EONNext That's great news and much appreciated, thank you so much!
The 'Gas Proxy' status is still 'installed not commissioned' so I'm now assuming that is the bit that talks to the IHD.
Hopefully it will update tonight, I'll let you know either way.

Unfortunately the IHD is still showing electricity only. I've tried rebooting it, no difference.
The bright app still shows the gas proxy as installed not commissioned.
My meters were set to send a meter reading on the 28th but both meters failed to send this time.
The 'gas proxy' still hasn't been commissioned and we're close to the 8 week deadline (since the transfer to EON) or 3 months since the gas meter was installed.
Fed up of babysitting these so called smart meters, they are useless 🤬
