    Hello April🌼

Did you know that every April is Stress Awareness month? 🧐It first started in 1992 and has since been dedicated to raising stress awareness.

This month the theme is ‘Community’ This theme was chosen because lack of support and loneliness can cause isolation and we have all had our share of it over the last few years when we where all suddenly plunged into lockdown. It’s hit everyone in some way.💜

Having some kind of support is really important as any kind of isolation can have an impact on your mental health and well being and can be an important risk factor for mental health and suicide.

Statistics show that people who are more socially connected to friends and family or their community are happier and healthier with less mental health problems than those that are disconnected.

Community could be anything your family, your friends, your neighbourhood, Mums/Dads on the school run, or the dog walkers you bump into regularly.

Socialising with others has so many benefits for our mental health that could be a hobby, joining a community of like minded people or volunteering.

I think it all ties in quite well with our little community on here as we aim to give you a sense of togetherness, a platform where you can come for help with your energy but it’s also a place to share fun stuff, make friends share what makes you happy or get something off your chest- we’re here for you…we're all in this together.😊

Here at EON Next we like to call ourselves families rather than teams as you know there are a lot more people working from home and socialising has become a little different!

For example us Nexties as we like to call ourselves have regular virtual team nights, we have a hub dedicated to Wellness and a whole list of members that have skills or are passionate and want to reach out and talk to anyone that needs a chat as well as being there for our customers we are there for each other now more than ever.

We also have a virtual book club for those of us that love to read but can never quite find the time!

A big thank you to all the volunteers on here who take time out of their day to connect with us all sharing knowledge and different skill sets and thank you to those who let us know how they have found resolutions on the community letting us know we’re doing and building here is working.

This month I’m joining in with the 30 day challenge doing one action everyday for my physically, mental or emotional well-being, my aim is to do 1 hour a day of walking, taking In the sights, noting things I’ve not seen before and get into the habit of getting more physically fit, they say it takes 30 days to turn actions into a habit.

What will you do this month? We would love to see your challenges and how you get on! Or why
not let us know what ‘Community’ means to you?
