Thanks for all the replies - few questions/thoughts from me:
1. @PeterT_EONNext feel free to send me a private message with any of the details you dont feel are appropriate to share on a public forum, keen to know all the details.
2. @PeterT_EONNext you say 're-enrolled' to the DCC. Does that mean it was originally enrolled and then somehow dropped off? Is that a normal thing to happen? Also, will things like the ivie bud work once I'm re-enrolled? cc @theunknowntech
3. @PeterT_EONNext - thanks for confirming the MPAN and meter serial matchup on your databases
4. @PeterT_EONNext - Thanks for escalating to the backoffice team. Do let me know what you get back from them regarding whether the details on the DCC are correct and match up what you have on your system
Let me grab @HannahD_EONNext as well, just in case Pete's away. But yes, once things are working you should be able to get an alternative IHD to work. Please check compatibility first though!
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

I've not heard anything from the Smart Team as of yet - there is a bit of a back log due to a lot of meters falling off of the network (yes this is quite common unfortunately, and usually occurs during a switch, and can also happen when a meter is moved from E.ON Energy/Npower to E.ON Next)
Pete 😊

I've now heard back from the Smart Team and I can share with you here what they've told me.
This Smart meter is waiting to be enrolled into the DCC. The meter is a SMETS1 and will have been installed by a different supplier.
We have no control of when this is going to be enrolled with the DCC and we are not able to enrol these ourselves.
The DCC will enroll the meter before 2025 and in the meantime, manual readings will need to be provided from the meter, this will need to be treated as a standard credit meter until the DCC enrol the meter.
I'm sorry that the info isn't more helpful/a more substantial time-frame can't be provided for your particular meter due to how we're waiting for this to be enrolled onto the network.
The DCC annual report (in very opaque language) says that all SMETS 1 meters will be migrated before the end of 2022.
I'd ask the Smart team to actually contact the DCC and ask for a statement on the SMETS1 Migration programme and when it is due to be fully complete so that customers can be given better information.
The smart switching capability is due this year too.

Reason: added link to DCC press release
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Maybe I'm not understanding how the process works - but I thought my meter had already received the software update to make it work with the DCC (as per messages on this thread and the fact that the loop app used to work), and that the current issue is that somehow it dropped off the network as a result of the switch (though a number of months after the actual switch date). So it was a network connectivity issue to my meter rather than a software one?
It's hard to say. The ultimate cause can be a million reasons though.
From my understanding, almost all S1 meters that are at least reachable should have received the necessary firmware updates in order to allow them to migrate to DCC and be managed/controlled via the new system. It's only at a later stage and via a separate process that the actual migration itself takes place.
In the event that you're still with the supplier who originally installed the meters, it's a fairly simple case of your supplier offering the meters up for adoption via DCC, then activating the Enrolment & Adoption processes and then grab it again once the meter comes back online via DCC.
However, if you've moved away and the meter went dormant... It's a little more tricky. You have to wait for the original supplier to release control and offer the meters to DCC before literally anyone - including DCC - can touch anything. It still uses the same communications methods etc though, so if it had a signal before, it should still have a signal now.
