Like everyone else in the country I was trying to provide gas meter reading yesterday, EDMI GS-60B gas meter screen is blank, tried all options (used Google for information)
Blank screen, doesn't come on at all.
I have checked my bill for gas and it shows last reading was done 292 days ago...
Last reading was done 13th June 2021.
I thought the whole point of smart meter reading that you don't have to do anything, and I am in shock now.
Electric meter is working well, I have been billed for electric only...account is in credit.
Not easy to get through to customer services, used social media contact yesterday, no response.
As I understand from other threads that I may need a gas meter replacement.
I'm theunknowntech and I'm an expert in having an anonymous blue face. :)
Unfortunately, I can't recommend any solution in this case other than to have the meter replaced and you'll probably have to have an estimated bill for that entire period, as it's usually almost impossible to pull readings off of a dead gas meter. I'm going to tag this thread for moderator attention and I'll try to get @Beki_EONNext or @HannahD_EONNext on the case for you.
My best guess is that the internal battery died. An engineer might be able to coax it back to life but there's no guarantee that will work either.
