Oh right! Sorry, I forgot about this thread in the crazy rush that came through here recently.
Those photos did indeed come through. I think I have some idea now. If you check your electric meter, could you tell me if the Comms Hub is either an EDMI Standard 420, or whether it's branded with Toshiba or WNC. If it's one of the latter two, it should also have SKU1, SKU2 or SKU3 on it. I'd like to know which one you've got as that will help me figure out what diagnostics I can do.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

No probs, and many thanks... The gas meter doesn't appear to have anything like a comms hub in it. And no wires going to the electricity hub, where there's a WNC hub with SKU1 Cellular on it...
Wondering if there should be a comms hub in the gas cupboard also, or of the one in the electric meter cupboard does both... I can check with neighbours to see if they have 2 comms hubs (it's a new build estate).

Nope, just on the electric meter as it does both at once. And that WNC SKU1 Cellular Hub is exactly what I'm looking for. :)
Both the gas and electric meters have an internal radio that they use to communicate with the hub. The Comms Hub just lives above the electric meter because it's a convenient place to put it and also gives it unlimited juice to run off. You don't get charged for that however. :)
@theunknowntech great thanks - sorry I only manage to log on every few days - so is there some config I can do to make the gas work? Thanks for your help...
Not really I'm afraid. It can only be done remotely.
However, my friend Blastoise186 had a tip from one of his industry contacts recently. It's possible that recommissioning the IHD and gas meter might fix the issue and that may be something @Beki_EONNext can help you out with. It could also be range issues, but I find that unlikely as the install would have been aborted if that was the case.
The other fix I'm thinking of is a replacement IHD like the ivie Bud.
@theunknowntech We can't recommission the IHDs without ripping out the entire smart system... It's crazy I know, but it is not sustainably ethical to do so. Especially if the meter is communicating with us.
@Salvador Are we receiving meter readings from your meter?
Are you sure? A product manager at Geo thinks it's possible to do with some well placed SMETS Commands. :)
It's actually just a case of pairing the IHD up again, mostly by sending the SMETS Commands to authorise the GUID for it to join the HAN. You might need to get the smart team involved though, as only they have the permissions needed. :)
And probably a similar story for the gas meter, although additional precautions should be taken if you're going to do that.
