I got a new SM last week and the installer said I'd have to call EON.Next to get them to update it with a tariff and that was pretty common.
I called EON.Next and after having a go at moving me to a fixed tariff (which was really, really evil if you ask me), claimed there was nothing she should do.
A few days later, I called back, was told it was normal and to wait 8 weeks, but couldn't provide any reference to that advice.
However she also "tried something". An hour later, the meter knew my gas tariff, but still nothing for electric.
Any idea how I can get past hopeless CS and get this done? currently my SM is telling me how much I spent, but it's wrong since it doesn't add in electricity.
There are a lot of fans of smart meters on this forum. I'm not one of them.
What is smart about this situation? I suggest writing to your MP to complain. We're spending billions on this initiative which seems to be a failure at almost every turn.
Nah, this is probably an easy one. Let me grab an @HannahD_EONNext and try bashing out some SMETS Commands. That might fix the problem. XD
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Thanks Hannah. The experience of trying to move me to fixed was concerning. If I didn't realise what she was doing it's likely she'd have significantly increased my bill.
But anyway, fingers crossed you can convince my SM to show ££ as well as KWH. Thanks!
Well, either you did it or a huge coincidence took place, but it's finally showing my £ on electricity.
Thank you so much for your help, funny how we have to find ways around the usual channels, but I'm glad at least someone in E.ON was clever enough to realise it's necessary.
Ah that was quick @SteveC5 I thought it might take a day or two! Yours was slightly tricky with a few technical issues we had to sort on the account (nothing that would ever have impacted your billing) but we got there eventually.
@UKDave51 yours should update tonight 😀
