Heya!
@TeessideConfused normally I'd get Pete to fix that for you, but he's asked me to hold back for a bit. Normal Robo-Pete service will resume from the 16th April, so could you stop by around then? He won't listen to me if I ask any sooner! XD
@weston800 sure thing. You've got SMETS1 there, so if you're after a new IHD, your best bet would be the Hildebrand Glow once they've got more S1 stock in. :)
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Further to my earlier post about the Samsung Smart Things Energy app I have now discovered, downloaded and am using the "Bright" app. This is made by Hildebrand and Glow - the same makers of the Glow IHD mentioned on here. This app is streets ahead of the Samsung offering. In fact I would say it does all that a IHD does (and more in some areas) apart from real-time monitoring. On that score it is about 3 hours behind. The app does both electricity and gas, unlike the Samsung offering which is electric only. The app is free to download and use and can be set up to link with the IHD. The verification process is a bit of a faff and includes sending photos of recent bills and even a selfie video of yourself saying you understand the terms and conditions. All in all though I can thoroughly recommend it as a near alternative to a IHD or as an adjunct to one.
On the subject of the actual hardware (the subject of this thread!) my meter is SMETS 1 and I did query with Hildebrand when or if the SMETS 1 version of the Glow IHD would be back in stock. I was advised , "The good news is that the new stock for SMETS2 devices is basically the same - we just need to put SMETS1 certificates on the units. That should get done within the next 2-3 weeks." The company says it will notify me when they come available. I hope that is helpful. I am very impressed with the Hildebrand customer service.

To add there is an issue with the selfie verification video.
Its a great app almost a substitute to an ihd.
The "error storing file" failure can be sorted by using ios or older android phone/tablet or writing to support (they got back in 3 hours) and they will send you a link to upload selfie video.
Will get an ihd. Probably
Just in case someone is stuck.
Thanks theunknowntech @theunknowntech , I using now loop app, that is free and working with android, also has a nice features to simulate the solar panel, but is not live and is updating the data only once a day, also is not reporting the gas usage
No worries. Apps cannot get live data I'm afraid - you have to use an IHD for that purpose. The only way an app can get live data, is if an IHD is linked to the app using CAD (Consumer Access Device) features... Which aren't always supported.
Easy peasy that one. It's got a SMETS2 EDMI Standard 420 Comms Hub on it for the Northern Territory. The ivie Bud should work nicely for you. You'll need to buy it directly from them as there's no authorised resellers etc.
As previously mentioned, I get zero commission or kickback out of this as I prefer to remain truly independent as far as I reasonably can.
Why do EON force us to use In-Home Devices anyway? I don't want to clutter up my home with any more gadgets. How is that responsible behaviour, in these times of climate emergency and plastic pollution, when I already have a computer?
The old EON customer account website used to show us our smart meter usage by the day or by the hour. This has been removed from EON NEXT. Please, please can this be reinstated?
