An alert has also gone out to another supplier me and my friends know about in regards to the IHD fire. They'll consider what action to take on their end as well, but it will have to be independent of what happens here for fairly obvious reasons.

@theunknowntech
Thus far, this is the only report of an IHD 'catching fire' I have come across out of about a UK user base of around 20 million devices.
A significantly better safety record in real terms, I imagine, than the 'spontaneous combustion rate' of for example Tesla cars, Dell laptops or Samsung phones.
One incident is one too many.Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons. -
Hi theunknownteck.
Well there is 100% defiantly something wrong with my smart meters not talking to the IHD.
I installed the Bright app and also bought the Ivie IHD.
Set them both up Friday morning and after an hour or so install and connect stuff both where working 100% spot on.
That was until midnight Friday night when they are supposed to switch to next days readings,
Both stopped showing readings on the gas smart meter side.
The Ivie IHD just kept showing the day before usage and no next day daily standing charge (26p), the Bright app only showed the new days daily standing charge (26p no gas usage what so ever).
So in my eyes this says to me that the gas smart meter is not communicating with either the electric smart meter or the IHD.
Your thoughts on this? -
Just to jump in about the Bright app - I have only ever seen consumption for the previous period. So this morning (Saturday) for example I can see all the data for the previous day's usage (Friday) and for days prior. I will therefore see Saturday's data on Sunday and so on. So Bright is great for historical usage but not for real-time usage. I believe that this has always been the way with the Bright app. No idea about the lvie IHD sorry.Last edited by Mailman; 14-01-23 at 10:11.

I'm still thinking these comments through, but IRL stuff is taking up a ton of my time. Bear with me, I've still got my eye on this!

@theunknowntech have you heard of the error with the DCC 4.6.1? I just had a meeting with the smart team and this is what they have said is the issue here.
-
DCC 4.6.1 is usually an error that occurs when a supplier change is in progress. On supplier changeover day, Daily Read Logs should be available to both the outgoing supplier and incoming supplier where one is accessing the meter to obtain a final read to close an account and the other is obtaining an opening read.
The error usually happens where DCC have not been informed of the change of supplier, or both old and new supplier haven't properly given DCC information that enables a supplier swap to take place, e.g. One or other's moving in or moving out dates don't match.
So I'm informed....
