The dates on your gas meter reads May 2022. The IHD should be under guarantee and E.On next should replace it for nowt. And with a good one if they've fobbed you off. Ask nicely for a new good one, but be prepared to make a complaint if they play hard ball.
Email with "IHD replacement under guarantee" in thr subject line and your detail in the main message. Good luck!
Warranty or not... I'm not sure I'd want a like-for-like replacement of a product that spontaneously combusted!

Sending a new IHD under warranty is only half the battle if E.On Next do indeed play ball. I suspect it will require an engineer visit to physically pair the IHD with the comms hub itself. This is not something the end user can do themselves.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.

No this is the origanal IHD that was paired to my smart meters by Eon. (Before they became eon next) but from day 1 has never worked properly.

No the IHD was the original one fitted when i had both my electric and gas smart meters fitted. Reason i say was is because now its just a lump of melted plastic after it desided to have a meltdown in the early hours of this morning.
I had a new gas smart meter fitted a few months later because the gas smart meter stopped displaying anything.
As you know this original IHD has been trouble from day 1 as you your self have asked for engineers to look in to it and try force updates for it.
I'm Confused. If this was an old IHD then tough its gone. If you have another IHD supplied by E.On Next is that working?. If not is it within warrenty?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

No i have only ever had 1 IHD which was supplied by eon.
But ever since day 1 it has never worked right.
eon next did say they would send an engineer out with a new IHD but they never showed up.
