@theunknowntech @retrotecchie am I right in thinking that the Hildebrand Glow (SMETS1) would be compatible with my smart meter? We have no IHD currently but the smart meter does send automatic readings to Eon Next.
If your meters are communicating, rather than buy an IHD, you could always use the Hildebrand Bright app on a tablet or phone. The SMETS1 version of the Glow should work, but I'm no expert on such things. I built my own device to manage my non-smart meter.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
You've got SMETS2, so I'd go for either the SMETS2 variant of the Hildebrand Glow IHD or the ivie Bud. Depends how fancy you want it to be.
Can you show photos of your failed IHD please? I may need to report this...
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Ouch. That's... Not good. I'll inform a few people who might want to know.
As for replacements, both are easy to set up for the most part and will show both fuels. The biggest difference is whether you just want a display that works, or one with some really cool features on it. The ivie Bud is the former, the Glow IHD is the latter. Or go for both if you want! :)
Just as a minor note, if anything containing a lithium battery catches fire, never throw it in the sink. Chuck it outside. Burning lithium batteries + water = very nasty mess, not to mention fumes.
The dates on your gas meter reads May 2022. The IHD should be under guarantee and E.On next should replace it for nowt. And with a good one if they've fobbed you off. Ask nicely for a new good one, but be prepared to make a complaint if they play hard ball.
Email with "IHD replacement under guarantee" in thr subject line and your detail in the main message. Good luck!
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

I have been told by eon next that my IHD is out of warranty as its more than 12 months old.
Even though ever since it was paired up to my 2 smart meters it has never worked correctly for more than 3 months.
