Hi all,
I've recently bought from eBay a smartview2 IHD as the one that we had just stopped working switching itself off ect. How can I get this paired to my smets2 meters? It says in the settings system settings and then asks for a pin which I or the seller doesn't have. I've added a couple of photos of the IHD and one of the meter If needed I can send more info of what might be required

I'm afraid you've been scammed. That SmartView 2 will never work because it's already paired to someone else's meter and is technically stolen. Please send it back for a refund and avoid buying more IHDs from eBay or Amazon as they won't work. Sorry.
Even if you got it paired, you'd still get exactly the same flaws with that one as the one that died on you, because it's a horrible IHD. I do have some good news though - there are legitimate sources of IHDs you can actually buy brand new and pair up yourself. You just need to know where to look. To play fair, I've got two that I can recommend - feel free to choose either one.
Either one of these should work fine as you've got SMETS2. Hope this helps

I have now initiated a return through eBay as you say it's useless lol joy of joys. But thank you so much for the links I shall have a browse, is there one that you prefer as in one having less issues ect.

Personally, I'd go for the ivie Bud as that's the one that's in stock right now. It's fully compatible with SMETS2 meters so you should be fine. My friend Blastoise186 tried it out recently and while it didn't work for him because of unique circumstances - Raichu is a VERY secure Smart Meter! - he did like the product and would also recommend it for people in your situation.
The ivie Bud can also be paired without involving your supplier, so you should have it up and running pretty quickly.
