Smart Meter and IHD

    Hi,

I had smart meters fitted many years ago by the Utility Warehouse, then I moved to Eon and they couldn’t read them. Last month i noticed that my bill said my readings had come from my smart meters and when I called them they said it was true and that my meters had received a software update so that any company could read them!

I no longer had the in house display unit, Eon said I couldn’t have one from them and to buy my own.

I bought the pit pit 500 as this is the one I had last time. I can’t get it to synch, from what I’ve read I need some help from Eon but they are telling me they can’t help and there is absolutely no one at Eon who can. Surely there is a technical team. Has anyone had a similar problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi @louisegirl111 ,

Unfortunately, your options for a replacement IHD are extremely limited to basically nothing. You had bad advice from customer service regarding getting a replacement IHD and I can guarantee that nothing you buy on sites like Amazon or eBay will work, because you have SMETS1. Your best bet might be to buy a Hildebrand Glow from https://shop.glowmarkt.com/products/...eter-customers if they ever come back into stock, or see whether the ivie Bud might work for your S1 meters. It probably won't but feel free to check it using http://ivie.co.uk/compatibility . These are the only two IHDs that have any chance of working for you at all.

Please send the Pipit 500 you bought back to the seller for a refund. It's probably stolen and there'll be no way to pair it up. Sorry.
