Hi all,
Please can you help?
My outside meter is a Landis Gyr E470 and I have just looked to take the reading and it says 10015 kwh (gap between the 100 and 15 but no decimal point). This seems really odd when I see from my statements that the November reading was 3192.3?
Hey @Buel ! Sure thing. Please post photos of your meter showing me the screen you're seeing. I can then double check you're seeing it properly.
Thanks!

Yeah, looks like you've been reading from the Account Import register, which is indeed the correct one. The Credit Mode Balance one is only relevant for giving you a rough idea of the current bill for the month at most.
There is no gap between the numbers as it's actually just caused by the regular spacing between calculator digits. You can probably very quickly see why I absolutely hate these L+G meters. Aclara meters are much, much easier to read because they don't use these cheap calculator displays. I also noticed the exact reason you happen to have that particular meter. Would I be right in saying it was installed by British Gas by any chance? And no, I'm not relying on the meter exchange history card, but on the codes below the Meter Serial Number. No-one other than BG has ever been known to use BGSML.
Perhaps it's worth getting a moderator to trigger an instant meter reading via SMETS Commands. @Bennie_EONNext could you compare those to these photos? It'll probably be a bit higher by that point, but I would imagine it'd still be within a few hundred kWh or so.
Wow, thanks so much for the help here, much appreciated!!
Yep, it is a new build and BG must have installed it. Oh I see what you mean - reading a meter should NOT have been this much trouble!!
Now - the issue I have is that when I went to input 10015 in to the EON meter reading page, it suggested that that reading is sky high? Now I am worried....

This sounds good but I have no idea what it means? ;))
There's a command that can be sent to your meters to grab a meter reading. The response comes back with whatever the current reading is at that point in time. Useful for testing whether meters are working at all, among other things. In this case, I think it'll help to identify whether the readings being sent back are matching up with what you're seeing.
Hi @Buel - I'm sorry this hasn't been picked up for you yet, things have been a little busy! 😅
I can't go into too much detail about your account here, but it looks like the meter serial number on your meter and the one we hold on your account (you can see this on your bill and online account) don't match up - this will need correcting which is why your readings look really out.
Please get in touch with us directly so this can be done for you. The best way to get in touch is via Facebook or Twitter, as we can get back to you much sooner over there! We're currently picking up messages 24/7 and you can send a message and then sit back & relax until a Digital Energy Specialist can take a look for you and get back to you.
Thanks - Pete 😊
