I’ve had new smart meters fitted around dinnertime today.
the gas meter had issues going through set up and EOn fitter had to make a call and get them to do it.
Once fitting was complete the fitter waited for the IHD to pick up the readings but said they sometimes took a while and he left.
around 5pm today the display started working showing over £400 usage.
currently over £700 in less than 10 hours
my bills before the smart meter was £41 for gas (I live in a small one bed bungalow)
Please ignore that £400 usage for now. That sounds like demo data to me and it'll probably sort itself out over the next few weeks. Your actual bills are not generated by your smart meter or in-home display, but by the billing system. As long as that's correctly billing you then you should be good to go.

it’s concerning seeing it continually going up, now over £700 and it’s only been installed less than 12 hours, but £700 for todays usage.
I’m concerned as It would be cheaper to move into a suite at luxury spa hotel should the bill reflect what the monitor shows I’ve used today - a huge jump from £41 per month to £700 in 10 hours!
