According to my eon next online account there has been no meter reading from the gas smart meter since 27/11/21.
Last reading at that time was 3957 kwH.
The last bill shows that this was calculated from an Actual reading, not an estimate.
I have never sent a manual reading from this meter, it has always been read automatically since I joined eon several years ago.
I thought it best to submit a reading, but when I checked the reading from the meter this morning, it was showing 1740.61 kwh.
I guess there is a problem with the meter since it is not providing an automatic reading, and showing such a discrepancy between the current reading and the last reading.
I don't have a smart meter at all but as far as i am aware gas meters measure volumes of gas which then have to be converted to kwh for billing purposes. If you meter registers in Cu metres you multiply the volume change from the last reading to the current reading by 10,55 to get an approximation of kWh consumed.
Its not unknown for readings to be incorrect, swapped with the electricity reading readings and so on. Make sure that you've read the meter correctly. I'm aware that the smart meters show a number of different sets of data but the display should show cu mt3 or similar and the figure for the correct one.. Then contact your supplier and speak to an advisor and give them the correct reading. Good luck!
