Hi all, we have had solar panels for about 7 years and last year had a smart meter fitted.
decided to check the meter box outside and noticed that when the smart meter was installed it seems that they have wired the feed from the the fit meter directly to the grid feed in and not the consumer unit and then back through smart meter into the grid. Has anyone else had problems with smart meters and solar panels. Regards

Reason: Adding photos
I could do with seeing some photos showing me how everything is wired up, if you could post those it would help a lot. However, I suspect that you've probably already got an Export Meter and it's simply being routed differently now. I can try to figure this out for you though, hopefully!

Ok, it's as I suspected. You have a separate export meter and it seems like this configuration has been retained post upgrade. FiT does not support smart meters I'm afraid, so you have to keep the separate Export Meter. Most likely your solar panels are still wired into your house internally though.
Thanks for your input solar panels are not wired into consumer panel internally as in the second picture. My installer had to reroute the power across to the consumer panel then back to the meter for us to use power we had produced
