Ok, having discussed this one with the community moderators @TriMike , I've arranged for @Beki_EONNext to forward this thread to an internal team for review. Depending on how much you're exporting and how big the system is can affect the outcome. Please hang in there for now as this may take a while.

Does anyone have any updates on this thread regarding the installation/conversion of 3 phase smart meters? As per usual I've had nothing back from Eon so checking to see if anyone else has had any progress
Hey all I think I mentioned a little further up the thread, we can fit this in some circumstances the best way to see if you are eligible is to get in contact with our energy specialists who will be able to check this out for you and if it's not available to you then your account will be noted up with interest. You can find our contact details here 😊

I have a question regarding smart meters, I am also looking to get a 3 phase smart meter installed. It will be in a cellar in a period property in the country where mobile signals are weak or non existent. Do smart meters operate off a GSM signal or is it another technology that allows them to return information to source in areas like mine, where there is limited mobile phone access?
one for the @theunknowntech. He'll be along when he can.
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and don't like smart meters. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.
Gotcha. In that case, if the signal in the meter location isn't strong enough by itself, there's ways to boost it such as with T1, T2 or T3 Aerials. And if push comes to shove, Mesh functionality is another option.
Sorry to resurrect an old but very interesting thread. I have a potential problem with having a standard Three Phase Meter fitted through E.ONnext. Northern Powergrid have been great and are disconnecting the old single phase supply and jointing in the new three phase supply on 3rd Feb but E.On although friendly can only give me a verbal on the phone to say its pencilled in and not to worry about it... because if the meter technician doesn't turn up on the day just report it as a loss of supply and it will then be prioritised! Obviously not feelig comfortable with this I've fired over three emails now requestiong confirmation in writing but have received no acknowledgemnt or response. I forgot to add as well that the call handlers have confirmed that three phase smart meters are still not available.
I wondered if theres any other way of raising a written response? Hopefully this forum might work
Three phase smart meters are available as that is fairly standard in a commercial or industrial setting, but they are not at all common in a domestic setting, unless you are rocking a very well equipped hobby workshop or need to export three phase power from a wind turbine.
They should easily be able to get hold of one from their parent company, E.On, who now only do business and commercial supply, with Next handling the domestic market. The problem is the meters are rarely installed by the energy companies themselves but by teams of engineers that carry out work on behalf of all the energy companies. The 'trick' is getting a slot on the right day, with the correct meter available and co-ordinating the visit at the time the DNO engineers are present. In theory, they have had plenty of time to get their ducks in a row and put everything in place, so you should have had confirmation, but they usually send a letter by post, so it may have just been delayed by the strikes.
Don't shoot me, I'm only the piano player. I DON'T work for or on behalf of EON.Next, but am willing to try and help if I can. Not on mains gas, mobile network or mains drainage. House heated almost entirely by baby dragons.
