Eon have promised me 100% renewable electricity but both my gas and electricity come from the same gas fired power station and down the Scottish power network. I'm not sure where eon believe fossil fuels like gas is 100% renewable??

That doesn't make sense to me.
GAS
It was never claimed that the gas supply was 100% renewable; however, gas provided on Eon Next Climate+ tariff is green due to carbon offsetting and the planting of 5 trees per year per customer in the Peruvian rainforest removing a further 100kg of CO2 from the air.
ELECTRICITY
Only the electricity supply is 100% renewable in 3 following ways:
The truth is that REGOs are obtained on the national grid together with
obtaining electricity from wind farms and
Eon's renewable biomass plants in Sheffield and Lockerbie to power a further 100,000 homes this way.
I have just been switched over from E-on to E-on Next. My fixed tarriff ends this month and I've been automatically put on the Next Flex. I am looking at your available Tarriffs and have a question I hope you can answer - Does the V13 Tarriff mean that BOTH the Unit charge and Standing Charge are fixed? Or is it just the Unit Charge that is fixed?

Like it says on the tin, the entire tariff is fixed. including the prices, all of them. somebody can correct me if I`m wrong but I`m sure I`m not.
Hi - If the Price Cap applies to Eon.Next customers, why has our monthly DD been suggested to rise from £200 p/m to £420 p/m, an annual cost of £5,045.00. This is way above the price cap rate - please explain? Thanks
The Price Cap is set out by Ofgem. This is the maximum that you can be charged in terms of standing charge, and per kWh on your gas and electricity, whilst on the standard, variable rate tariff.
Your monthly Direct Debit is a little different. This is based on your actual usage (how many kWh's you use per year on both gas and electricity). Your yearly average is then based on your previous 12 months usage, and forecast against what is thought the be used over the next 12 months, based on your new tariff's prices.
Pete 😊

The price cap figures quoted in the main stream media are based on an average consumer. You do not say what your consumption is but its a fair bet its way above the average. Also the average assumes a dual fuel customer. And to expand a bit on what PeterT says above, arrears on an account also have to be recovered and may be contributing to your level of DD. if you want to Direct message me I can send you a much longer and detailed message about how Direct debit amounts are calculated.
Hi Peter - thanks for the quick response. My mistake, in that I thought there was a cap in the actual amount that could be charged, not a cap on the various prices per unit and the daily rate. Understood now, but I've still questioned the 220% rise in monthly DD and suggested an alternative figure, which I believe is more accurate.
Thanks for your response - much appreciated. I've emailed Eon.Next with the following information:
Whilst we understand the drivers behind this increase, we believe a 220% increase in monthly fuel bill to be excessive. This, over a 12month period, would equate to an annual bill of £5,152.80. Checking tariffs on your own website would indicate the following: The predicted annual charge of £3,140.45 would equate to £262.00 per month; a rise of 30%, not 220%.
I've yet to receive a response to this email but hopefully something will be returned before the increase is applied.
