A 73 year old ! First question. Just had smart meter fitted and trying to programme heating and water to come on at 7.30am but the boiler keeps coming on between 6.15/6.45 not sure exact time and both override green buttons are on. Water is on Auto and Heating on Once what am I doing wrong ?
Welcome! I wonder if you're our oldest member?! Either way we're very happy you found us!
Sorry it's because of a problem though. I'll admit, this one has me a little stumped - we do get some poor customers where after a smart meter is installed the heating and water stop completely (we go straight back to fix those of course) but I've not come across one like this where it sends the timings off.
Fear not though, I've asked some of our smart meter experts to help! I also wondered if our resident smart meter expert @theunknowntech might have any ideas?
Between us we will get you sorted though Joyce - I promise. I'll be back as soon as I've got some more information.
@Joyce48
Hello, I didn't know smart meters could take over your central heating clock etc. I thought that was a smart thermostat and that they were 2 different things. Am I wrong? (By the way, I'm not far behind you in age, and I find all this very stressful and unnecessarily worrying.)
My first guess is that the clock on the boiler or thermostat might be out of sync after the meter exchange. You may want to make sure that's set correctly and see if it helps. If you still get stuck, please stop by here again and I'll see what else I can think of.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...
