@geoffers I wonder who initiates a mesh setup? How are they started?
Current Eon Next customer, ex EDF, Zog and Symbio. Don't think dual fuel saves money and think the smart meter programme is a waste of our money. Chronologically Gifted. If I offend let me know by private message, but I’ll continue to express my opinions nonetheless.

Mesh Network Implementation:
In the UK, the Data Communications Company (DCC) manages the smart meter network.
The DCC advise suppliers on signal strength in a particular area when installing new meters, so I guess they would instigate the setup of a mesh.
So presumably the first to go in would be mesh enabled and have the strongest WAN connection so could already talk to the DCC.
Subsequent installs could then join the mesh, but until there were 4 in the group they would also have to be able to communicate directly with the DCC, giving a level of redundancy to the mesh.
Further installations would then be able to join the mesh, even though they might be in a cellular not-spot
