I paid our green deal off in September our last payment was on 28th of October and still eonnext are charging us. I have sent countless emails to them but up to now have had no joy

Hi,

I've just been trying to look up answers for you, but there doesn't seem to be much information about what happens when the loan is paid off. Presumably, the repayments are supposed to end automatically once the remaining balance reaches zero - and at this point the Green Deal flags on ECOES (the national electricity meter database) should be updated to either remove it from the MPAN, or mark it as paid off. I can never remember exactly how ECOES does it, but it's something like that. Your supplier is also supposed to stop taking further payments as well.

If you've overpaid because of this, you're entitled to a refund of the excess payments in full. I'd recommend using the complaints process and if you don't get anywhere within eight weeks, escalate to the Energy Ombudsman for further help. E.On Next is subscribed to the Ombudsman, so they have to respond to any cases that get escalated there.
