Hi - I have been with Eon since March 2020 and understand that my account was switched over to Eon Next in November 2020. Since that happened you have not been able to take meter readings from either my gas or electricity smart meters which were fitted by EON in July 2020. When this be rectified?
That's about right. There's plans to get all SMETS1 meters migrated to DCC over time, with a target completion of September 2022.
I've just checked the latest reports from DCC and there's now just over seven million S1 meters connected to the system, along with just over 10 million S2 meters. It'll happen sooner or later for your meter too. Chances are, it's already got the firmware updates it needs from the manufacturer and is just waiting to start the migration too.
Just another guy passing by... The unknown tech way...

Hi there, @Carlos77 & @simont - Beki here 👋
I wondered if you've got in touch with our wonderful customer service team on Facebook (@eonnext) or Twitter (@eon_next)? Anything over 6 weeks for your smart meters to connect and start sending readings will need to be investigated. SMETS1 meters however are awaiting a fix that will allow them to reconnect to a new supplier after a fix...
@theunknowntech has some good responses if you use the search bar at the top of the page 😊
Mine is not working either, been informed that they are waiting for some extra information before it can be connected. Not sure what exactly that information is.
It appears that after the change to Eon Next, the "Smart" meters are no longer "Smart" and you have to read them manually. If you have a Fit Account (for solar panels) they have disappeared too, so you can't input readings (and therefore receive payment). I wish this change had been properly tested BEFORE being rolled out to customers. I'd have expected a company the size of Eon to have a dedicated testing team, but "testing" appears to be almost non-existent and certainly not up to recognised standards.

I received an email from EON next recently which mentioned they are looking to fix the smart meter issues by the end of this year!

staggering isn’t it. Have you tried the phone customer service? It’s basically turn it off and on again. He didn’t have a clue. Just luck some people on here are more interested to sort tge problem.
I got in touch with EON Next via twitter and they said following the switch the reading setting on my new account had not been set. That has now been resolved and they should start to receive meter readings through in the next few weeks. Hopefully this resolves the issue.
